Russian television, under the guise of a story about the destruction of the Ukrainian landing force, showed video of strikes on the bridge, which was undermined in 1944 by German soldiers
Russia Today TV channel aired another fake story about the success of the Russian army in Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
The Russia Today broadcast showed a Ka-52 Alligator helicopter firing several Vikhr missiles and destroying a barge with Ukrainian paratroopers who were trying to cross the Dnieper River near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station. But there is a nuance.
Instead of the Ukrainian paratroopers, the helicopter attacked a concrete monolith near the banks of the Kamensky Peninsula. It is part of the railway bridge Nikopil - Kamianka over the Dnieper River, the construction of which was initiated by German troops of World War II. But the project could not be completed. The bridge was blown up in February 1944 by the German military, and the surviving pylon became a monument to the terrible events of World War II.
