Ukrainian paratroopers shot down a Russian Su-30 multi-role fighter jet.

Here's What We Know

This was reported by the Command of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The paratroopers did it with a 23mm ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun, which was developed in the USSR back in the 1960s. It consists of two twin air guns, a machine gun and a ZAP-23 sight. Such a unit can fire up to 2,000 rounds per minute.

Flashback

The Su-30 is a two-seat, multi-role, fourth-generation fighter. It was developed on the basis of the Su-27UB. The fighter is designed to gain air superiority, long-range patrolling, escorting long-range aircraft, as well as radar surveillance, guidance and control. Unlike the Su-27UB, the Su-30 can perform long-range and long-range combat operations. The price of one Su-30 is $33,000,000.
