The Ukrainian military showed for the first time the fire performance of the Slovak self-propelled artillery unit Zuzana 2.

Here's What We Know

Previously, we have already seen how the howitzer drives on the territory of Ukraine, and now we can see how it fires. According to open sources, the Armed Forces received eight self-propelled artillery units from Slovakia. The cost of one is about €7 million, based on the fact that Slovakia paid €172 million for 25 guns in 2018.

The Zuzana 2 is a modification of the older Czechoslovak self-propelled Dana howitzer. It is built on a Tatra chassis with 8x8 wheel configuration and can reach a speed of 80 km/h or 40 km/h on highway or rough terrain, respectively. Cruising range is up to 750 km.

The Zuzana 2 is equipped with a 155mm cannon with a barrel length of 52 caliber. Maximum firing range is 41 km. Ammunition consists of 40 rounds. Thanks to its automatic charging system, the howitzer can fire three rounds per minute. In addition to the main gun, the artillery unit is equipped with machine guns of 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm caliber.
