Ukrainian Air Force shot down Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed-136 with MiG-29 fighters for the first time

A few days ago, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to shoot down Iranian kamikaze drones with Air Force fighters.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The drones were eliminated on October 5. Ukrainian anti-aircraft fighters shot down three kamikaze drones. Three more Shahed-136 were destroyed by pilots of the 204th Sevastopol brigade of tactical aviation named after Alexander Pokryshkin.

This brigade has MiG-29 and MiG-29UB fighters. They probably detected the kamikaze drones with the help of an optical-locating station, which is capable of tracking the heat trail of an enemy drone.
