The Ukrainian military told how German Gepard anti-aircraft tanks destroy Shahed-136 - one unit shot down more than 10 Iranian drones
The Ukrainian Armed Forces received several Gepard anti-aircraft tanks from Germany over the summer. They are now proving themselves well in the fight against Iranian drones.
Here's What We Know
The German publication Bild prepared an article about the work of the crew of the anti-aircraft self-propelled machines. According to the Ukrainian military, the Gepard have proven to be a good tool for destroying Iranian barrage munitions.
We are talking about Shahed-136 drones, which are marked as "Geran-2" by Russia. A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier told Bild in an interview that one anti-aircraft tank has already destroyed more than ten Iranian-made "flying mopeds" and two Russian cruise missiles.
Thanks to a pair of 35mm cannons, the Gepard has no problem dealing with such threats. The anti-aircraft gun also proved itself well in the Odessa region in the fight against a swarm of cheap drones, destroying two dozen UAVs in a short period of time.
