The Armed Forces of Ukraine regained the Mi-8 helicopter, which was seized by the Russians during the first days of the full-scale war
The Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of the country are taking back not only territories, but also military equipment.
Here's What We Know
In the first days of the full-scale invasion, the Russian military was able to seize a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter that was at an airfield in the village of Chernobayevka in the Kherson region. Russian media published photographs of the aircraft in early March.
More than eight months later, the Mi-8 once again came under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Unlike the tanks and infantry fighting vehicles that the Russians decided to blow up during their withdrawal from right-bank Ukraine, the helicopter remained intact. At least, there are no questions to the appearance, except for the symbol Z, but it will be promptly removed.
