Norway will also transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
Norway supports the transfer of tanks to Ukraine by allied countries and is preparing to transfer its own tanks. The Norwegian Minister of Defense Bjørn Arild Gram confirmed these intentions today.
"Now tanks have become very much in demand. Norway and the government support the transfer of tanks to Ukraine. Norway should be involved. This should be supported by training of Ukrainian soldiers and funding. We should support Ukraine as much as possible in a defensive battle," the minister stressed.
He did not specify when and how many tanks Ukraine would receive from Norway, but noted that these would be Leopard 2A4 modifications.
This information was also confirmed by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrei Yermak:
"Norway will send us Leopard 2. This is just the beginning, there will be a lot of cool news".
Earlier, the media wrote that Norway could send us eight tanks out of the 36 it has.
