Swedish parliament approves new military aid package for Ukraine, including Archer SAU and Leopard 2 tanks

Sweden's parliament on 23 March backed the government's proposal for a new military aid package for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

This package includes ammunition and military equipment worth over 6.2m kroner, which is about 630m dollars.

In particular, Sweden wants to transfer Leopard 2 tanks, Archer self-propelled artillery units and Robot 57 light anti-tank weapons to Ukraine.

The government stressed that it was in Sweden's interests to provide military equipment to Ukraine.

In addition, Parliament approved the sale of 14 Archer artillery systems to the UK, as the country had previously transferred its AS90s to Ukraine.
