Here's What We Know
The Ukrainian Defence Forces have detected two surface-to-air missile systems. The defeat of one of them can be seen in the first video below. The second Switchblade 300 attempted to attack another Osa SAM but failed. You can see footage of the remnants of the kamikaze drone in another video below.
The Switchblade 300 is a bomber munition developed by the US company AeroVironment. The first kamikaze drones were handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the spring of 2022. In total, the Defence Forces received about 1,000 of these devices.
The cost of one complex is $60,000. It includes 10 kamikaze drones. AeroVironment recently received funding to manufacture the first Switchblade 300 barrage munitions for France.
