US M777 howitzer destroys Russian 2A36 Hyacinth-B 152mm gun with M982 Excalibur precision-guided missile
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have hit a Russian 2A36 Hyacinth-B gun. The gun was destroyed in Kherson Region.

Soldiers of the 406th Artillery Brigade tracked the enemy equipment using an unmanned aerial vehicle. Once in position, the 2A36 Hyacinth-B gun was destroyed in a few minutes using an American M777 howitzer and M982 Excalibur precision-guided munition.

Flashback
The 2A36 Hyacinth-B is a 152mm towed gun. Production began in 1975 and lasted for nearly 15 years. During this time more than 2500 guns were produced in different variants. The gun is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 33.5km and can fire up to six rounds per minute.
As for the M982 Excalibur precision-guided munition, it has a calibre of 155mm and was developed by Raytheon and BAE Systems. The M982 was first used in 2007 during the war in Iraq. Its accuracy in hitting targets was 92%.
