Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy another Russian T-80BV tank

The number of T-80BV tanks lost by the Russian army in Ukraine is approaching three hundred. And we are talking about combat vehicles whose destruction and capture has been confirmed by photos and/or video.

Here's What We Know

In the photo above you can see, one of the first tanks destroyed. The photo was taken in mid-June 2022. And we suggest watching a recent video showing the destruction of a T-80BV by the Ukrainian Defence Forces in the Donetsk region.

The T-80 tank appeared in the mid-1970s. Nearly 10 years later it was upgraded to the T-80BV by the T-80B. The fighting vehicle received a dynamic 'Contact' protection, a 1,100 horse power propulsion system and the 2A46M-1 cannon.

In total there are several production modifications of the Soviet tank. The newest is the T-80BVM. It appeared already after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and with a reserve - in 2018. According to Oryx analysts, the Russian army has lost at least 79 T-80BVMs and at least three units of the 2022 model. We wrote about the destruction of one of these tanks a few days ago. It was eliminated using a drone.
