Ukrainian defence forces spectacularly destroyed a Russian T-72A tank with a KMT-6 minesweeper using a Javelin missile
In 2021, the Javelin was the primary kill vehicle in service with the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Now the Ukrainian army has long-range Storm Shadow missiles and HIMARS/MLRS rocket artillery, but the Javelin continues to effectively destroy Russian tanks.
Here's What We Know
The FGM-148 Javelin FGM-148 anti-tank missile system helped soldiers of the 59th Independent Mechanised Brigade destroy a Russian T-72A tank. The combat vehicle, equipped with a KMT-6 mine trawl, was eliminated in the Donetsk region. The video is notable for the fact that the Javelin missile flew close to the camera object.

The T-72A is a relatively rare tank if we're talking about the basic version. According to Oryx, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed, captured or damaged 38 T-72A units since 24 February 2022. For comparison, the Russian army has lost approximately 1,000 T-72B tanks in various modifications over the same period of time.
