Poland has started repairing German Leopard 2A4 tanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced at the weekend by Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.

Here's What We Know

The work to restore the tanks is taking place at the Bumar-Labedy plant, which belongs to Polish state defence company Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. The plant is located in the city of Gliwice in the south-east of the country.

Mariusz Błaszczak published a photo of one tank on a tractor. At the same time, it is reported that the company will repair two combat vehicles. The condition of these Leopard 2A4s has not been specified yet.

At the same time, there is no information yet about who and where the Leopard 2A5 and 2A6 tanks will be repaired. Earlier Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, Rheinmetall and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa had experienced difficulties in negotiations. According to the latest information, Germany has pulled out of the deal. This has yet to be officially confirmed.
