ABC News: the US may soon approve deliveries to Ukraine of ATACMS missiles for HIMARS and M270 missiles with a target engagement range of up to 300 kilometres

It seems that the epic with the delivery of ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces is coming to an end.

Here's What We Know

The United States of America may soon decide to transfer this type of missiles to Ukraine. The information was shared by the American edition of ABC News, citing its sources. According to one of the officials with access to the plans on deliveries the transfer of missiles is not far off. They may be included in the next military aid package.

Incidentally, Ukraine has asked to transfer ATACMS missiles for the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS from 2022, but the US has so far denied the request. The US Department of Defence feared that after the transfer of the missiles, the remaining stockpile would not be sufficient in case of a military conflict with China.

Flashback

Ukraine only uses M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS to launch high-precision GMLRS projectiles with a range of about 80 kilometres. With ATACMS, the AFU will be able to hit enemy targets at a range of up to 300 kilometres.
