The Lithuanian military tested the Vilkas BMP to replace the M113 tracked armored personnel carriers

The Lithuanian Army's arable units tested crews on the new Vilkas armored vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The military conducted defensive and offensive operations. During the training the vehicles showed themselves in a good way. Lithuania signed the contract for the supply of Vilkas BMPs back in 2016. We are talking about 88 vehicles worth 385,600,000 euros. The company ARTEC is engaged in the production of Vilkas. It is a joint venture of Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. The new BMPs will reinforce the mechanized battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. BMP Vilkas will become the replacement of already outdated American tracked armoured vehicles M113. By the way, Lithuania has transferred the part of them to Ukraine.
