AeroVironment will triple production volumes of Switchblade 600 amid successful use of kamikaze drones in Ukraine

The U.S. company AeroVironment announced plans to increase production of kamikaze drones after successful use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Note that the United States has sent several hundred Switchblade 300 and Phoenix Ghost bomber munitions to Ukraine. Meanwhile, AeroVironment is preparing to ramp up production of the more powerful Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones.

The manufacturer wants to produce three times as many kamikaze drones - 6,000 instead of 2,000 units. To this end, the company has already begun creating new production lines and is discussing with partners the supply of additional components.

The Switchblade 600 weighs almost 25 kg and can reach speeds of up to 113 km/h in flight. During an attack, the kamikaze drone accelerates to 185 km/h. The maximum flight range is 80 km. The Switchblade 600 can fly for 20 minutes and can barge in the air for another 20 minutes. The kamikaze drone is equipped with Javelin anti-tank warhead to destroy armored vehicles.
