U.S. Deploys Legendary A-10 Thunder II Attack Aircraft to Guam
The United States sent a group of A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft to a military base on the island of Guam.

Aircraft from the 23rd Air Wing will take part in the Air Force Pacific exercise. Their purpose is to demonstrate the ability to rapidly build air power by coordinating different geographically divided forces.
The U.S. began sending planes to Guam Oct. 23. The last group of A-10 Thunder IIs arrived at Andersen Air Force Base on Oct. 30. Russel P. Cook, 23rd Wing commander. The U.S. attack aircraft will take part in operations aimed at creating an operationally unpredictable battlefield situation for the enemy.
The deployment of the A-10 Thunder II to the Indo-Pacific marks a departure from the types of missions that have made the aircraft legendary. It's about providing support for ground troops in the Middle East.
