Sweden begins testing the spy ship HMS Artemis, which will replace the 40-year-old HMS Orion

The Swedish Navy still can't get the HMS Artemis reconnaissance ship. The service wanted to put it into service two years ago, but has only now begun tests.

Work on HMS Artemis began in 2016. It was planned that the ship would be handed over to the Swedish Navy in 2020. As a result, the ship has now only begun trials. They take place at the Saab shipyard in Karlskrung.

Almost all characteristics of HMS Artemis still remain classified. From what is already known, we can only note a displacement of 2,200 tons and a length of 74 meters.

Note that due to the two-year delay, the Swedish Navy was forced to extend the life of the reconnaissance ship HMS Orion. It has been in service with the Swedish Navy since 1980 and provides them with intelligence in the Baltic Sea.
