NATO tested an air defense system SAMP/T on the territory of Romania - these anti-aircraft missile systems can appear in Ukraine
France tested the SAMP/T air defense system as part of a mission to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.
Here's What We Know
Tests of the system took place in Romania at the Capu Midia military base. Fourth generation fighters F-16 Fighting Falcon and Eurofighter Typhoon of Turkish and Spanish Air Forces took part in them respectively, and also French deck fighters Dassault Rafale and American electronic warfare aircrafts EA-18 Growler.
The Alliance said it was a routine exercise to demonstrate the readiness and teamwork of NATO forces in responding to threats from any direction. As part of the test, the French air defense system successfully handled a simulated air attack.
SAMP/T is a Franco-Italian anti-aircraft missile system developed by Eurosam, which is a joint venture between Thales, MBDA Italy and MBDA France. A few days ago, Reuters news agency reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine Media: Italy is ready to transfer air defense systems SAMP/T and Aspide to Ukraine.
