Lithuania will buy 18 new generation self-propelled howitzers CAESAR with a range of up to 40 km
Lithuania has become the third country to order the new generation of CAESAR (Mk II) self-propelled artillery systems developed by the French company Nexter.

According to La Tribune, the contract between Lithuania and France has already been signed, but its cost is not specified. The agreement will be officially announced shortly.
The deal involves the delivery of 18 CAESAR self-propelled artillery units in the Mk II variant. Previously, only two countries have ordered these howitzers: Belgium and France.
CAESAR is a self-propelled artillery unit on a wheeled chassis. It is equipped with a 155-mm cannon of 52 caliber and has a maximum range of 40 km.
The Mk II variant received an armored cab, ARQUUS chassis and automatic transmission. Engine power was increased from 260 to 460 horsepower.
