Edge received more than $2.5bn to supply drones and missiles to UAE Air Force

UAE-based Edge Group has been awarded several contracts to supply unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles to the UAE Air Force. This was announced at the IDEX-2023 exhibition taking place in Abu Dhabi.

Here's What We Know

Edge has received $583m for Thunder P3 Light (PGM) high-precision missiles and $1.3bn for Desert Sting 25 (DS-25) high-precision air-to-surface ammunition.

The UAE Air Force will receive Hunter 2-S, Hunter 5 and Hunter 10 bomber ammunition. The drones support artificial intelligence algorithms. The contract value will be $299 million.

The latest contract is also for kamikaze drones. But this time Shadow 25 and Shadow 50. The manufacturer of the bomber munitions is ADASI, a subsidiary of the Edge Group.

The total value of the four contracts is just over $2.5bn and Edge Group has also announced the signing of an agreement with BAE Systems to support UAE defence and security capabilities.
