Ukraine received French Crotale NG surface-to-air missile systems in 2022. And now, we have seen the first footage of their operation.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces used the Crotale NG to destroy a Russian cruise missile. The aerial target was shot down at the second attempt.

Ukraine received more than two batteries of anti-aircraft missile systems in 2022. Deliveries of the latest batch were Ukraine receives Crotale surface-to-air missile systems to strengthen air defense.

The Crotale NG is designed to intercept air threats at extremely low, low and medium altitudes. The maximum range of the SAM system is 11 km and its altitude is 6 km. The Crotale NG can shoot down cruise missiles, helicopters and low-flying fighters.

The NG (New Generation) version appeared in 1990. It uses VT-1 missiles with a speed of Mach 3.5 (4321.8 km/h). The surface-to-air missile system is built on the chassis of the French Leclerc main battle tank.
