Finland buys the David's Sling missile defence system from Israel's Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.

This was announced by the Finnish Ministry of Defence. The contract is worth €316,000,000. At the moment there is no information when weapon deliveries will start. By the way, in order to buy the David's sling By the way, Finland had to get permission from the US, because the Israeli company Rafael was developing it with the American company Raytheon.

Flashback

David's Sling is a multi-level anti-missile system for the Israel Defense Forces. It is designed to intercept short-range ballistic missiles, subsonic cruise missiles and large caliber unguided rockets with a launch range of 70 to 300 km. Presumably, the David's Sling can also intercept aircraft. Trials of the system began in 2012. As for Israel, it entered into service two years later.
