Sweden buys 20 Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers from Finland

The Swedish Defence Procurement Agency (FMV) is buying Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers from Finland.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the manufacturing company. The contract was signed on April 17. We are talking about 20 combat vehicles. The amount of the contract has not yet been disclosed by both sides. The Swedish army will receive its first batch of APCs this year. By the way, in Sweden the vehicle will be called Pansarterrängbil 300.

Flashback

The Patria 6×6 (aka Patria XA-300) is a six-wheel armoured vehicle produced by Finnish company Patria. The APC is primarily designed for troop transport, but can be configured for other uses. For example, the platform can be equipped with a swimming system, a winch, enhanced armour protection and various weapon systems. The vehicle can be mounted with a 25 or 30 mm machine gun and a 120 mm Patria Nemo mortar turret. The Patria 6x6 has a cruising speed of up to 100 km/h.
