In April, the US Air Force held several events called "elephant walks". One of the most spectacular took place at Holloman, New Mexico.

Here's What We Know

The US Air Force lifted 49 aircraft into the sky simultaneously, nine of which were MQ-9 Reaper drones. For General Atomics' drones, this was the first participation in the "elephant walk". Along with them, 40 fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters took to the skies.

Between the end of March and the end of April, the US Air Force held six such events at once. We have already written about seven E-3 Sentries taking to the skies at Tinker, and 18 KC-135 Stratotanker refuelers took to the skies at MacDill.

The U.S. Air Force also conducted KC-135 Stratotanker, KC-46 Pegasus and C-17 Globemaster II training exercises at Altus, and KC-46 and KC-135 training exercises at McConnell. In addition, 80 training aircraft and 4,000 pilots participated at Sheppard.
