The IRON SPEAR competition was held in Latvia last week. Tank and infantry fighting vehicle crews took part.
Here's What We Know
NATO held the competition to test the ability of crews to quickly find the enemy and move through an obstacle course. The statement says the Alliance is keeping units on standby to respond to any situation.
The tank test was won by the British Challenger 2 crew. In second place were soldiers from Spain using German Leopard 2 tanks. The American M1 Abrams crew finished third.
As for the infantry fighting vehicle competition, the team from Canada, which operates the LAV 6, had the upper hand here. A pair of Spanish crews with ASCOD Pizarro vehicles was also in the top 3.
