Roketsan releases video of TAYFUN ballistic missile launch with a range of more than 500km

Turkish company Roketsan has shared a video of a test of the TAYFUN short-range ballistic missile. It can hit targets over 500km away, but that's not the limit.

In its first test launch last autumn, the missile flew 561km in 458 seconds. However, Roketsan will increase TAYFUN's range to 1,000 km. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced this late last year.

In the first test launch, TAYFUN successfully hit its target. The fact that the ballistic missile flew 561km in 458 seconds means it has a flight speed of more than 1.22km/s or approximately 4,400km/h (Mach 3.56). There is no further information about TAYFUN.
