Swarm of drones controlled by artificial intelligence detected and tracked several targets on land and in the air

The trilateral defence alliance AUKUS, comprising the US, Australia and the UK, has tested military equipment based on artificial intelligence. The groundbreaking tests took place in April this year.

Here's What We Know

Blue Bear Ghost and Insitu CT220 drones, FV433 Abbot self-propelled artillery, Challenger 2 tanks, Warrior armoured vehicles, Viking ground drone and OT-90 infantry fighting vehicle took part in the tests. Over 70 military and defence personnel were also involved in the event.

The military vehicles were able to successfully detect and track targets on the ground and in the air in real time. A statement from the UK Ministry of Defence said it was the first such test of Australian, British and US equipment supported by artificial intelligence technology. The event was organised by the UK's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.
