Finland buys 91 Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers

The Finnish Army will receive a batch of new Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carriers.

The information was shared by the press service of the country's Ministry of Defence. The contract was signed the other day. It includes 91 APCs as well as spare parts, vehicle training and maintenance for the armored vehicles. In addition, the contract includes an option to purchase an additional 70 armoured personnel carriers. Deliveries of the combat vehicles should start as early as this year.

The Patria 6×6 (aka Patria XA-300) is a six wheeled armoured personnel carrier produced by Finnish company Patria. The APC is primarily designed for troop transport, but can be configured for other uses. For example, the platform can be equipped with a swimming system, a winch, enhanced armour protection and various weapon systems. The vehicle can be mounted with a 25 or 30 mm machine gun and a 120 mm Patria Nemo mortar turret. The Patria 6×6 accelerates up to 100 km/h.
