The Netherlands will receive an upgraded version of NASAMS and an air defence system based on the ACSV G5

The Netherlands intends to develop an echeloned air defence system, which will include various anti-aircraft missile systems. In particular, an upgraded version of NASAMS.

Here's What We Know

The joint air defence system is designed to protect manoeuvre units, vital infrastructure and territory. This was announced by Defence Secretary Christophe Van der Maat.

The Netherlands will receive upgraded NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems. The Ministry of Defence conducted a study and determined that Kongsberg's exclusively air defence system, developed in conjunction with Raytheon, meets all requirements.

Deliveries of the medium-range air defence systems are planned for 2026. Two years after that, the Netherlands will receive short-range air defence systems. They will be mounted on the ACSV G5 tracked chassis (on the rendering above).
