Turkey unveils ATAK II helicopter with Ukrainian engines to compete with AH-64 Apache and Tiger
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has finally unveiled the T929 ATAK II helicopter. This happened at the Paris Air Show.

We have devoted several materials to the new Turkish helicopter. The ATAK II is equipped with two Ukrainian TV3-117 engines with a power of 2500 hp each and will make its maiden flight in the spring of 2023.
The ATAK II is being developed by TAI and SBS. The helicopter can carry a payload of 1500 kg. The maximum take-off weight of the helicopter is 11,500 kg.
The ATAK II is important for both Ukraine and Turkey. The former will be able to promote its propulsion systems, while the latter will try to capture a share of the global market. The new helicopter is positioned as a competitor for the AH-64 Apache and Eurocopter Tiger, which have a maximum take-off weight of 9,500 kg and 7,000 kg respectively.
