Contract worth 143,000,000 euros: Italy buys Israeli Spike LR2 APCs
Italy has signed a contract with Israeli company Rafael for the purchase of Spike LR2 long-range anti-tank missiles.

The report only mentions the amount of the deal - 143,000,000 euros. Deliveries will start this year and will end in 2030. ATGMs will be received by the landing units of the navy, as well as ground troops of the Italian army.

Spike is an Israeli multifunctional anti-tank missile system. It was developed by Rafael and is produced under licence in Europe. Its development began in the late 1970s, and it was adopted into service in 1982. The Spike LR2 is a modified version for longer range, up to 5,500 metres. It is capable of penetrating 850-900 mm of armour. The Spike LR2 can be mounted on armoured vehicles and helicopters.
