Lithuania to supply Ukraine with two NASAMS SAM launchers in September
In June, Lithuania promised to transfer additional launchers for NASAMS SAMs to Ukraine. It has now become known when the arms deliveries will start.
When We Can Expect It
According to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, the AFU will receive two NASAMS launchers next month. Nauseda said this during his visit to Kyiv on 23 August. Lithuania ordered the launchers from the manufacturer. The value of the contract was $9.8m.
Today in Kyiv I told my dear friend President @ZelenskyyUa that Lithuania will keep supporting Ukraine until victory.

Flashback
NASAMS is a mobile surface-to-air missile system for destroying manoeuvring targets at low and medium altitudes. The system was developed in the early 90s by the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence with the participation of the American Raytheon. The range of AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles is 20-40 kilometres and the maximum altitude is 20 kilometres. By the way, Ukraine now has at least two NASAMS batteries in service.
