No ATACMS: The US announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, including AN/TWQ-1 Avenger SAMs, AlM-9M missiles, ammunition for HIMARS and Javelin ATGMs
As expected, on September 21, the USA announced a new package of military aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
The new aid package is for $325m and contains:
- AIM-9M missiles;
- Additional ammunition for HIMARS MLRS;
- AN/TWQ-1 Avenger short-range surface-to-air missile systems;
- .50 calibre machine guns;
- 155 artillery cluster shells;
- 105mm artillery shells;
- TOW missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- 3 million rounds of small arms ammunition;
- 59 tactical vehicles;
- Explosive munitions for obstacle clearance;
- Spare parts, maintenance and other field equipment.

Unfortunately, ATACMS ballistic missiles are not in the new aid package. US President Joe Biden (Joseph Biden) has decided that he will not provide Ukraine with missiles of this type for the time being. However, this is not the final decision and it may change in the future.
