Japan buys more than 300 Carl-Gustaf grenade launchers from Saab

Swedish company Saab Bofors Dynamics will supply Japan with Carl-Gustaf grenade launchers.

Information appeared on the official website of the manufacturer. We are talking about more than 300 units of grenade launchers. Deliveries of weapons are scheduled for 2025. By the way, the Japanese Defence Forces have been using such Carl-Gustaf grenade launchers for not the first year, but in M2 and M3 modifications. As for the new contract, it is likely to include new versions of the M4.

The Carl Gustaf M4 supports the use of programmable ammunition and boasts the FCD 558 fire control system. The grenade launcher has an adjustable shoulder rest and an adjustable barrel handle support. Unlike other variants, the M4 can be carried loaded. The grenade launcher is capable of engaging targets up to 1 kilometre away.
