French self-propelled artillery unit Caesar will be equipped with a new fire control system.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The new fire control system will boast the presence of artificial intelligence. Thanks to it, Caesar will be able to reduce the use of ammunition for shooting and hitting targets by 30%. Testing of the system is scheduled for 2024. In the future, Ukraine would like to get such UAS in service.

Caesar is a French 155mm self-propelled artillery unit designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, bunkers, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The maximum range of the SAU is 42 kilometres (depending on the projectile). It is capable of firing 6 rounds per minute. It is operated by a crew of 4-5 people. By the way, Ukraine has received the Caesar SAU from France and Denmark.
