UK transfers 200 AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles to Ukraine for air defence system

The UK has approved the delivery of a new batch of missiles for Ukraine's air defence system.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about 200 missiles AIM-132 ASRAAM. Despite the fact that these are air-to-air missiles, they managed to integrate them into a special launcher and use them from the ground. The first information about such an air defence system in the hands of the AFU appeared in August 2023. It is known that the system is based on the Supacat HMT truck. It can hit air targets at a distance of up to 25 kilometres.

The AIM-132 ASRAAM is a British aircraft missile manufactured by MBDA UK. It has a mass of 88 kg, a length of 2.9 metres and a diameter of 16.6 cm. In flight, the rocket can reach speeds of up to Mach 3.5 (4321.8 km/h).
