EUR 350 million contract: France buys 109 CAESAR MK II self-propelled artillery systems
The French Army has ordered a large batch of CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems from Nexter.

Information was shared by the French military procurement agency (Direction générale de l'armement). We are talking about 109 systems in a new modification MK II with improved defence and increased mobility. The contract is worth 350 million euros. The first deliveries of the SAU will start in 2026.

Flashback
The Caesar is a French 155mm self-propelled artillery unit designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, bunkers, as well as provide passages in minefields and field barriers. The maximum range of the SAU is 42 kilometres (depending on the projectile). It is capable of firing 6 rounds per minute. It is operated by a crew of 4-5 men.
