A week before Starfield's release, Bethesda released the first patch, with 15 GB update size

Starfield is just over a week away from release, and Bethesda has already released the first patch.

Here's What We Know

As reported by users who used the pre-download option of the game, the size of the update was 15 GB on Xbox Series and 13.4 GB on PC.

It's not quite clear why an update of this size is needed, if according to the journalists' statements Starfield is in excellent technical condition.

Insider Gaming portal reported some fixes provided by patch 1.7.23:

• developers fixed a number of bugs related to quests, characters and other elements of the game;
• improved virtual keyboard support for playing on Steam Deck;
• improved Starfield performance and stability;
• eliminated a number of graphical bugs and minor texture issues.

When We Can Expect It

Starfield will be released on 6 September on PC and Xbox Series.

On the 1st of September, purchasers of extended editions will be able to go on a space voyage.
