Xiaomi CIVI: smartphone for teenagers with 120 Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 778G chip and 32 MP front camera for $405
Xiaomi held presentation in China, where the company presented several new devices. One of them was the first smartphone of the new CIVI line.
What is that?
The device is named Xiaomi CIVI. It is the successor of Xiaomi CC9, which debuted in 2019. The novelty is positioned as a smartphone for young people. The device has received a case with a thickness of 6.98 mm and weight of 166 grams, as well as an attractive appearance, which, incidentally, is reminiscent of Vivo smartphones. Especially with the design of the main camera.
Xiaomi CIVI is equipped with a 6.55-inch screen. The panel received an AMOLED matrix, FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and aperture for a 32 MP front camera. This is the Samsung GD1 module. According to the manufacturer, the front camera supports autofocus and filters for facial enhancement in photos.
The smartphone's main camera got three sensors. The main one is 64 MP. It is complemented by a 120-degree wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. As for the performance of Xiaomi CIVI, the Snapdragon 778G chip and 8/12GB RAM are responsible for it. The novelty also has 128/256GB storage, 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB-C, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm jack and an under-screen fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone comes with MIUI 12.5 shell, which is based on Android 11 operating system.
Price and when to expect
Sales of Xiaomi CIVI will start in China on September 30. The device will be available in three colors and three memory modifications:
- Xiaomi CIVI 8/128GB - $405
- Xiaomi CIVI 8/256GB - $450
- Xiaomi CIVI 12/256GB - $495
Whether the smartphone will be launched to the global market is unknown yet.
