Sony this year will introduce a new flagship smartphone - Sony Xperia 1 IV. The upcoming novelty will be the successor to the Xperia 1 III.

What is known

Like other flagships of the current generation, the Sony Xperia 1 IV will be equipped with a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 single-chip system. The base version will get 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM. In the top configuration, the smartphone will be equipped with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of permanent memory.

The capacity of the built-in battery will be 5000 mAh, and the fast charging power will be 45 watts. For comparison, the 2021 model is equipped with a 4500 mAh battery with 30 W wired charging.

Sony Xperia 1 IV promises a sub-screen selfie camera. Its parameters have not yet been specified. The resolution of the main camera will be 12 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP. At the same time, the standard module will be built on the basis of the Sony IMX363 matrix, which was released in 2018.

The presentation of the smartphone is expected in May 2022, and the start of sales at the end of summer. The Sony Xperia 1 IV will arrive on the market with Android 12 pre-installed.
