GTA 5 Release Date for PS5 & Xbox Series X|S - March 15, Enhancement Details
Rockstar Games has revealed more details about the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA V will debut on new platforms on March 15th. The game was originally supposed to be released in November 2021, and then was postponed.
This will be the third generation of consoles the game will be released on, after the first platforms (PS3/Xbox 360) and then PS4 and Xbox One. The game is also available on PC.
Improvements:
On the technical side, GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will feature new graphics modes that support resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 60 per second. Players can also expect improvements in texture quality and draw distance, as well as HDR and ray tracing options.
In addition, GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will feature faster load times, 3D audio, and "enhanced haptic feedback." Neither screenshots nor videos of GTA V on new platforms have been published yet.
Progress remains:
PS4 and Xbox One users can transfer their GTA V Story Mode progress, their GTA Online characters and related progress to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA Online:
As previously announced, a standalone version of GTA Online will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X on March 15th. PS5 players can download it for free for the first three months.
Like GTA V, GTA Online is being updated on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. First, players can skip the existing GTA V Story Mode Prologue, which was previously required before starting the game. Instead, a new GTA Online tutorial will be created. In addition, newcomers will enter a career menu that will allow them to choose from the very beginning what they want to become: a biker, an executive, a nightclub owner or an arms dealer. Players will also receive a "significant" gift at launch. In the meantime, returning players will have the option to restart the game to use the new Career Builder option.
