As we get closer to the highly anticipated release of Samsung's 2022 foldable lineup, rumors and leaks are becoming more common. Earlier this week, the Z Fold 4's crease adjustments took center stage. Now we have leaked photos of the protective case for Galaxy Z Fold 4, that almost confirm the Galaxy Z Fold 4's changed aspect ratio. Samsung's next foldable model will make small but tangible improvements to the device's size.

This time, the newest information concerns the aspect ratio of the display. A while ago, we covered rumors about expected changes to both Galaxy Z Fold 4 displays. The leak then predicted an aspect ratio of 23:9 (up from 24.5:9) for the external screen and 6:5 (previously 5:4) for the internal display when unfolded. This means that the outer display will be slightly shorter, while the inner one will be narrower.

The key word here is "slightly". The aspect ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will remain unusual. These changes are far from groundbreaking, but still another step in the right direction. While the exact aspect ratios are still in the realm of speculation, a photo posted on Twitter by well-known IceUniverse leaker shows that size adjustments are in the works. In addition to the different aspect ratios of the display, the photo also confirms that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will also be thinner to some extent.

The device's unfolded screen size has been a major impediment to its fantasy of being both phone and tablet. A more narrow, standard display would make the 2-in1 concept work better for smaller tablets like those seen in competitor devices. In recent years we've seen many innovations from Samsung that have allowed them continue their efforts while incorporating slight changes or improvements upon what was already existing; this includes tweaks on dimensions.
