Media: Germany wants to transfer Mars II multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine
According to the German publication Tagesspiegel, the German government plans to transfer multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine.
What is known
We are talking about four MLRS Mars II, which is produced by a German company Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann. For those not in the know, the Mars II is a European upgrade of the American M270 MLRS Multiple Launch Rocket System.
The Mars II MLRS is made on a caterpillar base and is designed to carry out combat missions of defeat and destruction from closed firing positions at a distance of more than 30 km. It can be used at any time of the day and in all weather conditions.
Recall that today, June 1, when speaking in the Bundestag, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Olaf Scholz promised to transfer IRIS-T to Ukraine: this is the most modern air defense system that Germany has.
