Monobank collected UAH 45 million for Warmate kamikaze drones: what kind of drone is this

One of the founders Monobank Oleg Gorokhovsky announced plans to purchase kamikaze drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine Warmate.

What is known

Monobank started collecting funds a few days ago in honor of increasing the number of customers to 6 million. In three days, users transferred more than UAH 36 million. The day before, the total amount of money raised amounted to UAH 45.2 million.

Oleg Gorokhovsky in Telegram wrote that after consultations with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a decision was made to purchase unmanned aerial systems Warmate Polish production. The purchase of two strike systems, which include 40 loitering ammunition, requires UAH 60 million ($2 million), i.е. to collect about 15 million hryvnia left.

By itself, Monobank did not go without a raffle. It's called "Brother". All customers who donate UAH 999 will get ten chances to win a unique platinum card and take part in the drawing of 40 individual messages for Russians, which will be printed on kamikaze drones.

What Warmate

Warmate - this is the loitering ammunition of the company WM Group. It was created in 2012, but the popularity of the drone came only in 2020 after the drones demonstrated their effectiveness in the war in Karabakh. In 2021, a Polish company produced the 1,000th kamikaze drone.

Warmate has a wingspan of 1.6 m and weighs 5.7 kg. Loitering ammunition launches from a small pneumatic catapult. The kamikaze drone has an electric motor and is invisible to the enemy. The flight altitude is 150-300 m.

The operator can observe the target through the camera. At the same time, he has enough time to direct the drone to the desired point. Even Warmate will be launched at maximum range, the operator will have about 15 minutes to reconnoiter and determine the best moment to strike.

To hit the target, a high-explosive or thermobaric part is provided. The first is responsible for the destruction of armored vehicles, including tanks. The second is aimed at manpower and ammunition depots.

control range Warmate is 30 km. The maximum flight speed of the loitering ammunition in the attack is 150 km/h, and the cruising speed is 80 km/h. The warhead weighs about 1.5 kg.
