Russia launched the latest Tornado-S missiles with 9M544 precision-guided munitions to attack Ukrainian cities
The Russian Federation used the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system with modified 9M544 rockets in Ukraine the day before.
What is known
One of the rockets, fortunately, did not reach the target and fell into a garden in the Donetsk region. You can see her photos below.
Especially for the Tornado-S, long-range missiles 9M544 and 9M459 were developed. A variant with 9M544 high-precision ammunition and a 9V706 control unit fell into the garden. Such a kit made it possible to turn an unguided rocket into a guided one.
The rocket projectile weighs 828 kg and consists of more than 500 combat elements weighing 240 g each. The maximum flight range is 120 km. The missile is used to destroy equipment and manpower. It can penetrate 14 cm of armor.
