Just over a week ago the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed receipt of German high-precision shells SMArt 155. on July 11, a video was published of a Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer destroying Russian equipment with a "smart" ammunition.

What we know

SMArt 155 is an ultra-modern shell for German self-propelled artillery Panzerhaubitze 2000. When it reaches a certain height, it explodes and fires two munitions on parachutes. True, it is difficult to see the parachute in the published video.

Each munition is equipped with radar and infrared sensors to search for armored vehicles. A hypersonic impactor is used to destroy the target.

Due to the fact that the quality of the video does not allow to accurately discern the presence of a parachute, it is also suggested that the Russian equipment was destroyed by a 155 BOUNUS projectile. It uses winglets instead of a parachute. But the transfer to Ukraine of 155 BONUS has not been announced.
