The U.S. sends 580 Phoenix Ghost kamikaze drones to Ukraine - a Switchblade counterpart designed specifically for the AFU
The United States will send more than five hundred kamikaze drones to Ukraine Phoenix Ghost.
What is known
US President Joe Biden has agreed on a new $270 million military aid package for Ukraine, which will include 580 barraging munitions Phoenix Ghost.
The drone can be used to observe and destroy enemy targets. The Phoenix Ghost is being developed by Aevex Aerospace. The U.S. Department of Defense says the munition is analogous to Switchblade produced by AeroVironment.
The Phoenix Ghost is designed to destroy medium-armored ground targets. The drone is able to work day and night due to the presence of infrared sensors. The autonomous operation time is up to six hours.
The development of Phoenix Ghost began before February 24, 2022, but the Pentagon states that the bomber was created in accordance with the requirements and needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Until today, the U.S. has transferred 120 systems to Ukraine Phoenix Ghost.
