Iran sold Shahed-129 attack drones based on the US MQ-1 Predator and Hermes 450 to Russia
Iran still supplied Russia with a batch of drones Shahed-129, despite claims to the contrary.
What is known
This is reported by Censor.net citing its own sources. Russian propaganda publications also wrote about it, but simply referring to "Western media" without specifics.
The drones were reportedly headed across the Caspian Sea to Russia. The cargo will arrive in Astrakhan and then be delivered to Ukraine by transit through the Volgograd region. The number of drones is not specified.
Shahed-129: what is this drone
Shahed-129 is an Iranian drone developed on the basis of captured drones MQ-1 Predator (USA) and Hermes 450 (Israel). The UAV can reach a speed of 150 km/h. The flight radius is up to 200 km, and the maximum range reaches 1,700 km. According to the developers, the drone can stay in the air for up to 24 hours.
Shahed-129 can carry up to 200 kg of payloads, including anti-tank missiles Sadid-1 (analogue of the Israeli Spike-ER) and high precision bombs Sadid-345. Iranian drones have not yet been used in a full-scale war.
