Poles raised $4,900,000 for Bayraktar TB2 for Ukraine
Ukraine may soon receive a second free attack drone Bayraktar TB2, money for which was collected by residents of other countries.
What is known
In Poland fundraising for the Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar TB2 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was completed. The site zrzutka.pl raised nearly 23,000,000 zlotys or $4 ,900 ,000 in four days before the crowdfunding campaign ended.
Earlier, Lithuania donated an unmanned aerial vehicle to Ukraine. It was named Vanagas. Funds for the Turkish strike drone are also being raised in Canada and Norway.
Bayraktar TB2: what is this drone
Bayraktar TB2 is an operational strike drone made in Turkey. It is equipped with a pusher-type propeller and an internal combustion engine. The drone can carry two guided missiles UMTAS with a launch range of up to 8 km or four high-precision bombs MAM-C / MAM-L, which hit targets at a distance of up to 8 km.
The first strike drone was purchased by Ukraine in early 2019. However, Turkey and Ukraine are not the only drone operators. Bayraktar TB2 is also used by the forces of Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Morocco, Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Niger.
